Poynter Institute Reports on Future of Fees For Online News
According to Poynter Institute blogger Bill Mitchell, a recent Pricewaterhouse Cooper study indicates that people will be willing to pay for news content online in the years ahead. However, Mitchell points out, these billed news services will center around more highbrow news that is “specialized, targeted and relevant”, as well as sports and financial news. General news, Mitchell says, might still be administered as free content, however.
